Plan Your Summer with HTFL

Memorial Day officially rings in the beginning of summer, however it isn't until school lets out and the weather gets hot that we often feel like summer has begun.   Here at the library we've lined up a number of fun things for you to do in and outside of the library.  Below we've listed our top three.

1. Join the Summer Reading Club

Every year hundreds of our community members participate in the Summer Reading Club at HTFL.  Use the links below to see how you can get in on the fun!
  • Adults - register and pick up a free book, then enter to win prizes all summer long
  • Teens - read to enter prize drawings and attend fun events
  • Children - do weekly crafts, attend special programs, and read to win prizes

2. Go to a museum for free

For the second year running, the Friends of the HTFL have purchased special library passes to local museums.  With these passes you will receive free entry, usually for a family of four, as well as some special discounts.  For a full list of museums and rules see our Museum Passes page.  Due to popular demand, effective Monday, June 19th, 2017 through Monday, September 4th, 2017, customers will only be able to check out one (1) museum pass at a time.

3. Attend the Sounds of Summer outdoor concert series

Free concerts throughout the summer.  The fourth Friday in June, July and August be serenaded by the melodies of three great cover bands.  Learn more about the bands, what to bring and when to arrive on our Sounds of Summer event page.
