All kids going into Grades 1-6 are welcome to join our Pen Pal Program! You will get a Pen Pal who lives in another town in Delaware County.
Pen Pal registrations will be accepted June 1st-July 15th.
Letter delivery will be ongoing until August 30th
How do you do it?
- Fill out the Pen Pal information sheet and an All About Me sheet by July 15th. These are located in the Children's Room or you can click the links and download a copy. .You may also pick up an information sheet from the Children's Room Desk to fill out and bring it back to the library by July 25, 2019. You may also print one here.
- On or after July 1, visit your library to get information about your Pen Pal.
- Through the summer, visit your library to drop off letters for your Pen Pal and pick up letters from your Pen Pal. (We’ll notify you when a letter is ready to be picked up.)
- Pen Pals who write at least two letters are invited to a Summer Quest party on August 7th from 1:00
p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and may possibly meet their Pen Pal. Please RSVP to Theresa Dykes at
firstname.lastname@example.org by August 1st with your name, home library and number in your party to
receive a drawstring bag from County Council and other goodies.
Please note: The library system will try its best to deliver letters and encourage Pen Pals to respond. Unfortunately, some Pen Pals will only receive one letter. If you have any comments about this, or the program,
please e-mail email@example.com as your librarian cannot give out any additional Pen Pal
