Description:
Light It Up Origami is an innovative maker program where teens explore the intersection of art, design, and basic electronics by creating origami that lights up. Participants will learn to fold traditional and modern origami models, then bring them to life using simple LED lights, copper tape, and coin cell batteries to create working circuits.
The program begins with a brief intro to the basics of origami and paper circuitry. Teens will then choose from a variety of designs (such as lanterns, stars, flowers, or animals) and customize them with lights, creating luminous paper sculptures. Along the way, they’ll gain hands-on experience with STEM concepts like circuits and conductivity—all while expressing their creativity.
