In the area south and west of Philadelphia, the numerous creeks have provided water power for a prolific number of mills over the centuries — from the early Swedish and Dutch settlers, to the Colonial English, and then for America’s food and paper production, and other industries.
Presenter, Dan Campbell will describe his process of researching these mills, through written and photographic records, visiting the buildings and other physical evidence which can still be found at many of the sites. The presentation will be an illustrated and narrated talk showing a dozen mills in our area, with maps and photographs, from the past and present.
