SPECIAL COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS) ANNOUNCEMENT FROM Haverford Township Free Library Updated: 03/13/2020 @ 8:00pm

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP FREE LIBRARY – CLOSED for Public until March 29th.

The Deputy Secretary & Commissioner for Libraries Pennsylvania Department of Education, Glenn Miller, has issued a directive to all public libraries across Pennsylvania to be CLOSED to Public until March 29th, a period in alignment with state-wide school closures. Hence, as of Saturday, March 14th the Haverford Township Free Library WILL BE CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC until Sunday, March 29th.

Library materials that are due during this time do not need to be returned until March 30, 2020 and fines for these materials will be waived. However, the Public can return items at any of the book-drops located at CREC, Haverford area YMCA or at the book drops in front of the Library.

We understand that many in our community have questions pertaining to our library services and even the COVID-19 crisis. Because of this, we will have professional staff answering the phones to provide information services Monday through Friday from 10 am to 5 pm.

We greatly appreciate everyone’s cooperation and flexibility as we navigate this evolving situation. If recommendations from local or state officials necessitate a change to these plans, we will continue to update and post announcements on our website, social media, and our voicemail.

Sincerely,

Sukrit Goswami, Library Director
