Dear Community:
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, Staff, and Friends of the Haverford Township Free Library, we are excited to announce that the Library is about to launch into the final phase of our renovation and expansion project! The construction phase of the project is coming to a close and we are delighted to share our plans moving forward along with a few important dates.
The first important date is for the grand reopening of our newly renovated and expanded building at 1601 Darby Road on Thursday, May 22, 2025. We will have more information to share with you about this special day of celebration over the next few weeks. Please plan to visit our website for more details.
Beginning Monday, April 21, 2025 the temporary library at the Manoa Shopping Center will be closed to the public in preparation for our move back to our home site.
The following useful details will assist you during this brief period of closure:

The Library’s last day open in our temporary location will be Saturday, April 19, 2025, hours that day are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.

The Library book drop at the temporary space will close at the end of the day on Saturday, April 19, 2025.

The remote book drops at CREC and YMCA will be temporarily unavailable beginning Friday, April 18, 2025 to Thursday, May 22, 2025.

Due dates on Haverford Township Free Library materials - Books and Audio are extended to Friday, June 20, 2025. Please note overdue fines will NOT be charged during this period.

Please hold onto your Haverford Township Free Library books and audio items until we reopen at our permanent location.

If you prefer to return your items during the closure, you may return them at any other Delaware County Library. If you would like to return your items to the Library before our closure, you may do so through Saturday, April 19, 2025.
