The Haverford Township Human Relations Commission and the Haverford Township Free Library present a Black History Movie Afternoon featuring Rustin on Saturday, February 28, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., including a post-film discussion. The event will highlight the life and legacy of Bayard Rustin, the driving force and chief organizer behind the historic 1963 March on Washington.
Born in West Chester, Rustin dedicated his life to the pursuit of racial equality, often working behind the scenes to bring transformative change in the face of immense obstacles. This powerful film traces his pivotal role in shaping a movement that changed history. Attendees are invited to bring their own snacks and stay for the discussion following the screening. Rustin is rated PG-13.
