Booked & Blooming is a creative, hands-on adult library program that combines crafting, upcycling, and book-themed décor. Participants use a Cricut cutting machine to create realistic paper flowers, then design and assemble book vases made from repurposed or discarded books. The finished pieces can be used together as a unique floral display or enjoyed separately as home décor.
The program begins with a brief demonstration on Cricut basics, including selecting a design, loading cardstock, and assembling layered paper flowers. Participants then learn how to safely fold, cut, and secure books to form decorative vases, with tips on protecting the structure and adding inserts for fresh or faux flowers. Library staff provide guidance throughout, making the program welcoming for beginners as well as experienced crafters.
