Creative Connections

Creative Connections is a monthly arts exploration program for children ages 8–12. Each session highlights either a featured artist, artistic movement, or cultural tradition. After a short intro, participants get to create their own artwork inspired by the theme or an artist while listening to stories, poetry, fairy tales and/or music connected to the theme.

Creative Connections celebrates the arts and invites young creators to learn by making.

March: Women’s History Month: Creative Voices
Learn about notable women artists and create original artwork while listening to poetry and prose by women writers and songs by influential female singers of the 20th and 21st centuries.

April: National Poetry Month: Impressionists, Poets, and April Music

Learn about notable Impressionist and Post-Impressionist artists, and create original artwork while listening to poetry and songs from various artists about the month of April.
