Discover the beauty in imperfection with Golden Repairs, a calming and creative workshop where adults explore the ancient Japanese art of kintsugi—repairing broken pottery using lacquer and gold (or gold-like) powder.
More than just a craft, kintsugi is a philosophy that honors the history of an object, embracing its cracks and flaws as part of its story. In this hands-on session, participants will:
Learn the cultural background and principles of kintsugi
Practice basic techniques using modern, beginner-friendly materials (such as epoxy and metallic powders)
Repair a chipped or cracked ceramic piece, turning it into a beautifully restored work of art
All materials will be provided, but attendees are welcome to bring a broken ceramic item (optional). No experience is necessary—just a willingness to slow down, be present, and find beauty in broken things.
