Knot Your Average Art is a creative teen library program that introduces participants to the art of macramé while incorporating beads to create a modern wall hanging. Teens learn the basics of macramé, including common knots such as the lark’s head, square knot, and half hitch, before combining these techniques with wooden or decorative beads to personalize their designs.
The program begins with a short demonstration and visual examples, followed by guided, hands-on instruction. Teens are encouraged to experiment with patterns, spacing, and bead placement to create a piece that reflects their own style. No prior experience is needed, and all materials are provided.
