Scratch Lab: Code Your Story! is a guided, hands-on library program for children ages 7–12 that introduces computer programming through Scratch using activity cards completed as a class. Each card represents a specific coding activity, and the group works through the cards together, step by step, with the librarian leading discussion and demonstrations.
At the start of each activity, the librarian introduces a card, explains the goal, and models the steps on a shared screen. Participants then complete the same activity on their own computers, with time for questions and experimentation before moving on to the next card. This shared pace ensures that all learners build skills together while still allowing room for creativity.
