Speak Your Verse: Open Mic Poetry Afternoon

Event Details

Celebrate National Poetry Month with an afternoon of creativity, connection, and self-expression at our Living Room Open Mic Poetry event. Held in the relaxed comfort of our library’s living room space, this welcoming program invites poets, writers, and listeners alike to gather and share the power of words in a cozy, supportive atmosphere.

Participants are encouraged to bring original poetry, favorite poems, or short spoken word pieces to share. Whether you’re stepping up to the mic for the first time or you’ve been writing for years, this open mic is designed to be inclusive, encouraging, and pressure-free. Prefer to listen? Audience members are just as welcome to sit back, enjoy, and be inspired by the voices of the community.

This informal afternoon celebrates the many forms poetry can take—from heartfelt and reflective to humorous and experimental. Share your voice, discover new perspectives, and connect with fellow poetry lovers as we honor National Poetry Month together. All experience levels are welcome, and no registration or prior performance experience is required. Come as you are, bring your words if you’d like, and enjoy an afternoon dedicated to creativity, storytelling, and the art of poetry.
