Teen Volunteering

Wanted: Teen Volunteers!

Teen volunteers are invited to join the Teen Advisory Board to help direct the teen library experience! TAB is a volunteer-based group of teens to earn volunteer hours while creating fun projects, working collaboratively with other teens, providing input on teen collections and services, and develop leadership skills!

To join TAB:

    • Must be ages 13-18 years old
    • Complete a Teen Volunteer Application, signed by your parent or guardian if you are under 18.  Return the application to the circulation desk, or email our Teen Services Librarian, Jennifer Appell, at appell@haverfordlibrary.org.
    • Available to meet once a month on the 2nd Tuesday from 3:00-4:15 PM at Kelly Center (4 E. Eagle Rd., Havertown PA.)

Earn volunteer hours by participating in Teen Reading Lounge! TRL is a teen-led unconventional book club with community-action projects. Join us as we learn about the role of art in activism, and help us create a DIY zine with teen-created artwork!

To join TRL:

  • Must be ages 12-18 years old
  • Complete a Teen Volunteer Application, signed by your parent or guardian if you are under 18.  Return the application to the circulation desk, or email our Teen Services Librarian, Jennifer Appell, at appell@haverfordlibrary.org.
  • Available to meet twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays from 3:00-4:15 PM at Kelly Center (4 E. Eagle Rd., Havertown PA.)

During the summer HTFL seeks teens to volunteer as Library Pages.  Responsibilities include putting away library materials, assisting in maintaining order in the collection, and working directly with library staff on special projects.

To apply you must be:

  • Ages 13 years and older
  • Complete a Teen Volunteer Application, signed by your parent or guardian if you are under 18.  Return the application to the circulation desk, or email our Teen Services Librarian, Jennifer Appell, at appell@haverfordlibrary.org.
  • Available to volunteer 4 hours per week
  • Available to attend Teen Volunteer Orientation and Training.
