Join us for the 9th annual DEWEY DECIMAL DASH 5K RUN / WALK and support the Haverford Township Free Library!
This fun, family friendly event is for all ages and fitness levels, and brings our community together to support our Library!
About Us
People who know Haverford Township know that this is a special place. It is a town where neighbors still know and look out for each other, where small businesses have thrived for generations, where residents feel real pride. Our Library, with 180,000 patron visits each year, is a gateway to community connection through social events, groups and programs that bring people together. Our Library is part of what makes this township an exceptional place to live.
With generous support such as yours, this event has raised over $100,000 since 2017, helping fulfill our Library’s mission of providing excellent resources, services and programs for all ages. In all, the Library hosts nearly 1,000 programs annually with 27,000 people attending. These range from the literary (author talks, a graphic novel club, the writers group) to the wide-ranging (Lego Club, Science in the Summer, Drumming Circles, the Quilting Group, and Teen Dungeons and Dragons). Haverford Township Free Library truly offers something for everyone in our community. Thank You for Your Support!
Did you know that our Library has the highest circulation rates of all libraries in Delaware County? We offer a remarkably diverse collection of both print and digital materials and have earned prestigious recognition with the highest Gold Star designation by the PA Library Association.

Saturday, November 1st, 2025
- Registration begins at 7:30 am
- 5K Run begins at 8:00 am
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk begins at 8:05 am
START LOCATION: The Front of the Haverford Township Free Library (1601 Darby Rd, Havertown, PA 19083)
The course will run down Mill Road to Karakung Drive to Manoa Road and back.

We are excited to announce that 7th Heaven will be singing the National Anthem again this year to kick off the event!
- 5K Course runs down Mill Road, to Karakung Drive, to Manoa and back to the Library
- 1 Mile Course run/walk down Mill Road to Earlington and back
Virtual participants can run or walk the course anytime, or anywhere between 11/1/25 – 11/8/25 and log times on the Runsignup registration page.
