HTFL Library of Things: How It Works
HTFL’s Library of Things (LOT) was created to provide access to a broad range of resources that enrich lives and build community. LOT will primarily collect items in four distinct areas: Family & Home, Yard Games, Leisure, and Technology.
LOT items will be bookable through the Reference department, like our Book Clubs in a Bag. The items will be available for free to library users 19 and up for a one-week borrowing period. LOT items may not be renewed. Upon booking and at the discretion of staff, you may request the due date for an item for travel or vacation to be extended to the length of the trip.
LOT items must be booked by and picked up from the Reference desk at HTFL. Items in the LOT collection cannot be checked out via inter-library delivery to other libraries. LOT borrowers will sign a borrowing agreement for each item that details general expectations for using the LOT as well as the individual item cost, contents, condition, and replacement and cleaning fees.
Upon return, LOT items may not be placed in the book drop or returned to other libraries. Items must be able to be returned to circulation with minimal effort from library staff. A cleaning fee will be charged for items that require cleaning by staff.
