Kids and Teens
The Youth Services Department works to provide access to the highest-quality books, resources and programming for patrons from 0 – 18 years old and their caregivers.
The Malatesta Children’s Library offers books, movies, CDs, kindles and more for children along with a large play area.
The Teen Library is reserved as a gathering space for patrons ages 11 – 18 to gather and do school work.

Back to School Guide and Info Sessions
Parents of school-aged children are encouraged to attend a Back to School Information Session where Library staff will explain some informational materials, resources, programs, and spaces we offer for children, teens, and tweens during the school year. Please attend the session that matches the age(s) of your child(ren):
For Parents of Tweens/Teens (6th grade and up): Tuesday, September 8 at 7:00 pm in the Teen Library
For Parents of Elementary School Children (grades K through 5th): Wednesday, September 16 at 6:30 pm at the Camoratto Reading Steps
In addition, there will be a Back to School Social for tweens and teens (6th grade and up) on Friday, September 11 at 3:00 pm. Come meet – or reconnect with – our Teen Librarian, Josh, as he introduces you to the programs, resources, and spaces we offer for teens and tweens.

E-Readers
The Library offers Nooks, Kindle Paperwhites and Kindle Fires with titles pre-loaded for children, tweens and teens. Click here for more information about items and availability or visit the Youth Services Circulation Desk on the 2nd floor of the Library.
Yoto Players
A screen-free, interactive audio device for children that plays stories and music, Yoto boxes are available for checkout in the children’s area and can be reserved through the catalog. We also have a selection of yoto cards that can be checked out separately for use on the boxes. Click here to see availability at HTFL.
Kids and Teens Kits
HTFL is pleased to offer many different kits available to check out on a first come, first serve basis. These kits can be renewed up to three times, similar to books. Programs and Events
Please note that tween/teen programs, clubs and activities are designed for students in grades 6 – 12.
