E-Readers

The Library offers E-Readers for children and for adults.

E-Readers are preloaded with popular titles which you can view at the links below. You can also see if a popular title that you can’t get in print or through Libby/Overdrive is available on an E-Reader by searching in the catalog and looking for items labeled as “3D objects”.

E-Readers can be checked out for 3 weeks and to anyone ages 16 and up. Children’s E-Readers are available at the Children’s Desk and Adult eReaders are available at the main circulation desk on the first floor. E-Readers should be returned to the main circulation desk (not through the book drops).

Rokus

The Haverford Township Free Library offers Roku 4K Streaming Sticks.

Roku is for streaming movies, Apple TV, Disney+, channels, and more! A Roku can be checked out by any adult with a library card in good standing. To use a Roku you must have an HDTV and a high-speed Wi-Fi internet connection. It can be borrowed at no charge for 7 days!

Hotspots

Hotspots are available for twenty-one day checkout.

Checkout for adult patrons in good standing to check out at no charge and use at home or on the go. Hotspots can be reserved through the DCL catalog or by calling the Reference Desk at 610-446-3082 x503. We also have a limited number of non-reservable Hotspots that are available to customers who come in person on a first-come, first-served basis.

CDs, DVDs & Games

Reserve CD’s, Books on CD, Video Games and more.

Physical CDs, books on CD, DVDs, and Video Games are available for check-out in our Living Room area and can be reserved ahead through the DCL catalog. You can also browse and request audiobooks and ebooks on Libby/Overdrive and stream movies using Kanopy. For more information on setting up Libby or Kanopy, please call the Reference Desk at 610-446-3082 x503.

Yoto Boxes

A screen-free, interactive audio device for children that plays stories and music.

Yoto boxes are available for checkout in the children’s area and can be reserved through the catalog. We also have a selection of yoto cards that can be checked out separately for use on the boxes.

Kids & Teens Kits

HTFL is pleased to offer three different kinds of kits available to check out on a first come, first serve basis. These kits can be renewed up to three times, similar to books.

Grandkits
Grandkits originally were purchased through a grant attained by the Delaware County Library System (DCLS) and distributed to county libraries. Each blue bag includes a variety of books, activity pages, manipulatives and other assorted items all pertaining to a particular theme. HTFL Kids’ Kits

HTFL Kids’ Kits built upon the popularity seen with the Grandkits and expanded the themes available to patrons. Each green or light blue backpack includes books, movies, puppets, and other assorted manipulatives depending on the corresponding theme.
