Summer Reading 2026

Monday, June 22 – Saturday, August 15

Children (Ages 0 – 12)

On your reading log (download below or visit the Youth Services Desk), you will find a row for each week. Complete each line by filling in the reading minutes under #1, adding up your minutes in column #2, and telling us which of our activities you did under #3.

Read at least 100 minutes throughout the week. Record the number of minutes you read each day and add them up for your weekly total. Read anything you like – books, magazines, graphic novels, etc. – whether it’s from the library or somewhere else!

– Pick an activity from our list (see page 3). Choose the same activity each week, try a new one, or do multiple activities!

– When you’ve completed a week’s worth of reading and your activity, return to the Children’s Circulation Desk for your weekly prize – a new brag tag and a book each week!

The last day to pick up weekly prizes is Monday, August 17th.

Bring your log to the circulation desk each time you finish a row to receive your prize for that week. You may report only once a week and please only record one activity at a time, even if you have done more. You must bring your log to get your prize!

After mindfully reading for at least 15 minutes, teens will annotate/summarize their reading. When they have completed an hour of reading (with at least 4 journal entries) they can bring their notebooks in to the Teen Library and receive a raffle ticket. Teens will be entered to win prizes at the end of Summer Reading.
