On your reading log (see below to download), you will find a row of book icons for each week. Complete each line by reading a book to or with your child, then fill in or color the book icons for that week.

When you’ve completed a week’s worth of reading, return to the Children’s Circulation Desk for your weekly prize – a book each week!

The last day to pick up weekly prizes in Monday, August 17th.

Receive a free Koffmeyer’s ice cream cone when you have read 56 books during the 8 weeks of Summer Reading.

Children (Ages 5 – 12)

On your reading log (download below or visit the Youth Services Desk), you will find a row for each week. Complete each line by filling in the reading minutes under #1, adding up your minutes in column #2, and telling us which of our activities you did under #3.

Read at least 100 minutes throughout the week. Record the number of minutes you read each day and add them up for your weekly total. Read anything you like – books, magazines, graphic novels, etc. – whether it’s from the library or somewhere else!

– Pick one of the following as your weekly log activity:

– participate in our weekly scavenger hunt
– submit a short book review of a book you loved this week
– color a printout, draw a picture or create a craft project. Each week, we will make 100 “take and make” bags available at the Children’s Circulation Desk
– attend one of our weekly programs or visit one of our fun Summer Reading events

– When you’ve completed a week’s worth of reading and your activity, return to the Children’s Circulation Desk for your weekly prize – a new brag tag and a book each week!

The last day to pick up weekly prizes is Monday, August 17th.

Bring your log to the circulation desk each time you finish a row to receive your prize for that week. You may report only once a week and please only record one activity at a time, even if you have done more. You must bring your log to get your prize!

Everyone who reaches the reading goal (800 minutes) gets entered into the prize raffle on August 31 and receives a free Koffmeyer’s ice cream cone. Earn an additional raffle ticket by reading 1,600 minutes, or two additional tickets by reading 2,400 minutes. Prizes include a Kindle Fire table, Explorer basket and STEM/Maker basket.
