Lost or damaged items = replacement cost*

*When an item is lost or damaged, the replacement cost of the item must be paid in full. Because library materials are purchased from contractual vendors, the Library does not accept replacement items purchased by customers. If you have a concern about the cost of an item that you are checking out, the Circulation staff is happy to inform you of the replacement cost at any time.

• Overdue fines are capped at $10.00 per item (with the exception of Museum Passes which have a cap of $100)
Accounts that accumulate fines that exceed $20.00 will have their borrowing privileges suspended countywide until fines are paid

Library Fees

Replacement library cards = $3.00
Black & white computer printout/copies $0.20 per page
Color computer printouts/copies = $0.30 per page

Interlibrary Loan

For items not found in the Delaware County Library System, a request can be placed outside of the county. To place a request call 610-446-3082 x503, email reference@haverfordlibrary.org or stop in at the Reference Desk.

General ILL Guidelines

Any juvenile or adult patron who has a valid Delaware County Library System card and who owes no fines may use ILL.
You may have up to four ILLs at any given time.
It is a free service in the vast majority of cases, but we will let you know if a lending library requires a fee.
The average arrival time after a request is placed is 7-14 days, although it can take longer for hard to get items.

View the DCLS Interlibrary Loan brochure for more information regarding ILL services.

Suggest a Purchase

The library welcomes your suggestions for purchases of books and materials in other formats. Purchase decisions are informed by cost, availability, DCLS system availability, format durability, and circulation trends.
